Drug Discovery Scientist
Research
We are seeking a Drug Discovery Scientist with a strong background in preclinical research to lead the discovery of novel therapeutic candidates sourced from nature. Based in Vietnam, you will oversee local research operations and guide experimental strategies across screening, validation, and early-stage optimization. You will work closely with international collaborators and internal computational teams to refine compound selection and prioritize high-potential assets.
Responsibilities
- Oversee preclinical experimental workflows including target validation, hit expansion, and pharmacological profiling.
- Lead assay development and optimization for primary and secondary screening.
- Coordinate in vitro ADME, cytotoxicity, and mechanism-of-action studies.
- Manage outsourced in vivo pharmacology studies in collaboration with CROs or academic labs.
- Interpret preclinical data to guide structure-activity relationship (SAR) decisions and compound prioritization.
- Contribute to project documentation, data reports, patent filings, and scientific publications.
- Ensure experimental quality control and regulatory alignment for downstream development.
Qualifications
Must have:
- PhD degree in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines from prestigious universities (prioritize in South Korea, Japan, or France).
- Track record of publications in industry-relevant scientific journals or conferences
- Proven experience in drug discovery, especially in hit-to-lead or lead optimization.
- Familiarity with assay development, compound screening, and data interpretation.
- Understanding of pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and structure-activity relationships.
- Experience working with natural compounds is preferred.
- Excellent project management, scientific writing, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
